The history

A five-generation history

Ristorante Arche is the story of a passion for cooking that spans three centuries and five generations. Since 1877, the Gioco family has managed one of the most enchanting places to eat in Verona, near the Arche Scaligere and next to Romeo’s house.

In a context full of charm and romanticism, Giuseppe Gioco started the business in the second half of the nineteenth century, when Arche was initially an inn with accommodation. Then it would have been tavern, trattoria and, finally, restaurant. A path that from Giuseppe continued with Edoardo, Giuseppe, Giancarlo and now Silvia Gioco, who leads Ristorante Arche with her husband Damiano Pellicari and the contribution of their children Riccardo, Matteo and Vittoria.

A meeting point in the center of Verona

From the very first day, the customer’s welcome, the love for good food, the attention to raw materials and the care of each dish are values handed down from generation to generation.
Ristorante Arche has remained, over time, a meeting point.
A place steeped in history and research of good food, including typical recipes from Verona and Veneto and innovative proposals and combinations absolutely to try!

Ristorante Arche: an experience... for everyone

The strategic location, in the heart of Verona, the quality of the food and the privacy of the place have also met the favor of illustrious guests. From Gabriele D’Annunzio to the Nobel Prize for Literature Iosif Aleksandrovič Brodskij; from the journalist Enzo Biagi to celebrities from the world of entertainment such as Alba Parietti and the creator of Festivalbar Vittorio Salvetti.
Some have left their signature, others have had an “incognito” experience. All, however, have appreciated the privacy, friendliness and culinary offer of Ristorante Arche.
